Use our Ingredient Glossary to truly understand what makes our Sozo Australia Hair Health range unique.
Our Australian haircare products have been formulated with the highest quality all-natural haircare ingredients to provide you with REAL results WITHOUT the chemicals. Here are our most powerful ingredients that make our haircare products just so good.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera)
As the first ingredient in all three of our Sozo Hair Health products, we maximise the benefits of aloe barbadensis leaf juice which is processed from the inner fillet of the aloe vera leaf. It is GMO free and organically grown using sustainable farming practices. We love aloe as it contains vitamins C, E, B12, folic acid and beta carotene known for its anti-ageing powers. Aloe is also an essential ingredient in our formulas as it contains polysaccharides to achieve ultimate moisturisation for your hair.
Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil
Argan oil is rich in vitamin E, carotene and essential fatty acids which provide intense conditioning especially for heat damaged, coloured and dry hair. This ingredient also adds lustre and shine to hair, plus it eliminates frizz, which is why you will find argan oil in our shampoo, conditioner and hair mask.
Behentrimonium Chloride (Plant/Vegetable/Naturally Derived)
This is a cationic (positively charged), naturally derived emulsifier and conditioning agent used to hold each product together by combining water and oil phases. This ingredient also assists with detangling your hair and reducing static as it flattens the cuticles. Plus, it conditions without leaving a build-up on your hair and it has a low irritation profile, which means it has superior mildness for your scalp and skin.
Behentrimonium Methosulfate (Plant/Vegetable/Naturally Derived)
This is also a cationic (positively charged) natural vegetable derived emulsifier and conditioning agent that shares its features and benefits with behentrimonium chloride.
Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract
This is a rich source of antioxidants, vitamins C and E and catechin-polyphenols, which is why green tea leaf extract is known to help moisturise the scalp and dry, damaged hair. Green tea is another powerful ingredient formulated into all three of our products as it helps to reduce the effects of ageing on hair, including hair loss and greying. We don’t know about you, but we sure want to avoid those two signs of ageing for as long as possible!
Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides (Plant/Vegetable/Naturally Derived)
This is a non-greasy, luxurious emollient used in our conditioner and is made from fractionated medium chain triglycerides. It is also naturally derived from coconut oil.

Coconut oil is also rich in saturated fatty acids and medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs).

In every Sozo Australia Hair Health product, we use naturally derived glycerin as an emollient and humectant that helps to retain moisture. It is also a key ingredient in improving the feel and performance of our products and it helps to deliver the benefits of the active ingredients we have carefully selected.
Glyceryl Stearate SE (Plant/Vegetable/Naturally Derived)
This is another naturally derived emulsifier used to combine the oil and water phases that hold our products together.

Hydrolyzed Adansonia Digitata Seed Extract
Trade Name: Baobab Tein NPNF®
This is a naturally derived peptide from the seeds of the baobab tree, which has been sustainably and ethically sourced. We use this ingredient in our shampoo and hair mask because of the undeniable benefits. Firstly, it is promoted as an anti-ageing product for your hair. Dry, damaged hair will also be repaired, moisturised and strengthened from using this ingredient. Plus, you will experience extra protection for your scalp and hair from any UV-damage. Just like we need to apply sunscreen to our skin for UV protection, you can protect your scalp and hair from the sun simply by using any of our products.

In our Hair Health Mask, we use 100% pure active Australian manuka honey, which is composed of sugars, proteins, amino acids, vitamins, enzymes, minerals and other minor components. We knew this was a must-have ingredient in our mask as manuka honey is known for its antibacterial and wound healing properties. It is also an emollient and humectant to soothe and condition both skin and hair.
Melaleuca Alternifolia (Snowflower) Leaf Extract
This is derived from a native Australian plant species and contains active phytonutrients such as gallic acid and flavonols. These are known to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin of Vitamin B5 – Nature Identical)
This is the provitamin of D-Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), which is a naturally occurring compound. We use panthenol in our shampoo and conditioner as it moisturises the scalp to improve its overall health and appearance. Plus, it conditions and moisturises split ends and damaged hair. What more could you want in your haircare products?
Polyquarternium 10 (Plant/Vegetable/Naturally Derived Conditioner)

This ingredient helps to leave your hair and skin feeling smooth and rich. Plus, it improves the gloss and shine of your hair.
Scents – Naturally Derived Lavender and Coconut

However, because we have committed to only selling absolutely ALL-NATURAL products, we have used these ingredients which are all preservatives based on compounds found in nature. They provide broad spectrum preservation against yeast and mould and have been approved for use in organically certified products.
Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid – Plant/Vegetable Derived)
Sodium Hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. If you know anything about skincare, you will know that hyaluronic acid is trending because of its power to keep skin hydrated and youthful due to its high-water retention capability. It is naturally derived by bacterial fermentation using plant sourced glucose and it acts as a natural moisturiser for your skin and hair. In fact, hyaluronic acid creates a moisture barrier around the hair shaft, which ultimately adds volume. So, we knew this was another must-have in our shampoo, conditioner and hair mask.
Sodium Lauroyl Sacrosinate (Naturally Derived – Nature Identical Cleanser)
This is a sulphate free surfactant, cleansing and foaming agent, that is derived from N-methylglycine (sacrosine) which is a naturally occurring amino acid and natural coconut fatty acid. This is mild on your skin and hair but also gives a rich creamy lather, imparting a silky softness and lubricity to your hair.
Tocopherol Acetate (Naturally Derived Vitamin E)
This ingredient is naturally derived vitamin E and is used in our conditioner and hair mask. Due to its antioxidant effects, it supports a healthy scalp and hair and also promotes hair growth as a result of increased blood flow to the hair follicles. Plus, tocopherol maintains the outer coating of your hair to improve your overall shine. Alongside these benefits, it also maintains stability of plant oils in our products by preventing oxidation.
