We’d love to have you confidently join the thousands of happy  Sozo Australia customers  who have already experienced their own all-natural hair transformation and achieve your healthiest scalp and hair. So, let dive into everything you need to know about our Sozo Hair Health range.

1. Is our Sozo Hair Health suitable for coloured, grey or silver hair?

Yes! In fact, most of our customers have coloured or silver/grey hair and love using our range of products that is free from all the harsh chemicals. Our natural haircare is wonderful for all hair types; however, it is particularly loved by those with coloured hair because we’ve intentionally formulated scientifically proven natural ingredients like argan oil, hydrolysed quinoa and beetroot extract to care for coloured hair.

Argan oil, specifically, is rich in vitamin E, carotene and essential fatty acids and this means it provides intense conditioning for heat damaged, coloured and dry hair. It also creates shine and help to smooth frizz. Plus, argan oil is known to help reduce inflammation and soothe your scalp, which is why it is formulated into our shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and serum.

Hydrolysed quinoa is a naturally derived protein that provides a range of benefits, including protecting your hair from environmental stress. But it is particularly important for those of us with coloured hair because it also improves hair colour uptake, it enhances colour retention, adds body to your hair and assists in styling. With all these wonderful benefits, our customers experience better results for their hair health and colour.

Beetroot extract is another essential ingredient in our natural hair products because it not only conditions, hydrates, smooths and strengthens, it is also known to help prevent colour fading, which is absolutely what we want after we’ve spent time and money visiting the hairdresser for our colour appointments.

Although our natural ingredients are proven to help you support strong, healthy, coloured hair, it is important to remember that our products do not act as a toner to alter your hair colour. If you commonly rely on a purple shampoo or toner to manage your colour, our greatest recommendation is to use our Sozo Hair Health for your regular washes, closely monitoring your colour and seeking the advice of your hairdresser to confirm if you do, in fact, need to use a toner between your appointments. If you require a product to counteract any brassy or yellow tones, depending on the colour treatments and advice you receive from your hairdresser, you can, of course, use a toner specifically recommended for your colour alongside our range. Simply use the purple shampoo or toner for a single wash, then return to your consistent Sozo Hair Health routine to maintain optimal scalp and hair health. Every hair type and colour is unique, so whenever in doubt, speak with your hairdresser about whether you need a purple shampoo while you’re using and experiencing the benefits of our natural haircare.

‘Fantastic for fine, dehydrated hair! This product was great for my greying, fine, flyaway hair and left it feeling and smelling fabulous, not heavy for my fine hair but has enough oomph to hydrate my coloured locks 10/10 would recommend!’ – Amanda, Sozo Australia Customer

2. Do we use perfumes in our natural haircare products?

No, we do not use any synthetic or chemical based perfumes in our products. However, we have included natural oils to provide a subtle scent for each of our products. Our Sozo Hair Health Shampoo and Conditioner have been formulated with lavender oil that creates a fresh, natural, spa-like scent when using in the shower, while our Hair Health Mask contains coconut oil for a luxurious, summer holiday experience with every use. Our Scalp & Hair Health Serum doesn’t contain any added oils for scent but its formula does provide a relaxing rosemary scent as rosemary oil is one of the feature ingredients in our serum because it is known to increase circulation to the hair follicles and support healthy hair growth long term.

‘Body and shine! I love the scent and feel of this shampoo, I actually look forward to massaging my scalp as I use it, and to seeing the result — body, a soft curl, and shine.’ – Linda, Sozo Australia Customer

3. Are these Australian hair products suitable for thinning hair and will they stop hair loss and promote hair growth?

Many of us with thinning or naturally fine and limp hair commonly worry about using products that will weigh the hair down and leave it feeling greasy. No one wants that flat hair feeling when using haircare, so that’s why we’ve formulated our Sozo Hair Health with scientifically proven natural ingredients that are known to be nourishing while also remaining lightweight. This means you can target, hydrate and nourish both your scalp and hair without worrying that you’ll be left with hair that feels heavy or greasy. So, if you have naturally thin, fine or even oily hair, don’t be afraid to use our products generously. All hair types, including oily hair, require conditioner and hair mask treatments, so with our Sozo Hair Health, you’ll be able to support strong, healthy hair with natural body.

‘Love this product! I started using Sozo Australia just over a month ago, I absolutely love it! I had thin hair with a lot of splits ends and I’ve noticed a major difference in my hair, its silkier, it feels thicker and when I blow dry my hair, it now has volume, I will definitely be using Sozo now for my hair.’ – Asimenia, Sozo Australia Customer

‘Thin hair now appears to have volume. My thin falling out hair now looks thick with volume and I can style it again!’ – Louisa, Sozo Australia Customer

Now, let’s talk about hair loss. Hair loss, thinning or increased shedding is different for each and every one of us, which is why there isn’t a one size fits all answer. Thinning hair is a concern many of us face at some point in our lives, but in order to truly experience your best hair growth results and achieve your healthiest hair possible, you need to understand what you, personally are experiencing. You need to be able to identify the type and cause of your hair loss.

Firstly, you will need to identify if you are experiencing hair loss from your scalp or if your hair is thinning as a result of breakage and damage. Both of these two scenarios are unique and need to be addressed accordingly. Let’s talk about hair breakage first. When our hair is consistently exposed to a range of different factors, such as excessive heat when styling, UV, damaging hairstyles, hair colouring/bleaching and using incorrect hair tools or brushes, our hair can easily become damaged, dry and brittle. This can then lead to breakage, split ends and, eventually, thinning hair. If you can identify the hair habits in your current routine that are likely causing damage, then you can determine that your thinning is a result of hair breakage. When you know this, to experience enhanced hair health results and support strong hair growth moving forward, you will need to avoid these unhealthy hair habits whenever possible and care for your hair by investing in a natural haircare treatment designed to nourish, repair and strengthen your hair. Our Sozo Hair Health Mask is an all-natural, silicone free, weekly hair treatment you can use in place of conditioner to deeply nourish and strengthen your hair, as well as improve your scalp health. If you believe that hair breakage is not your concern and that you’re seeing hair loss from your scalp, there are several factors to consider. Often, if you’re losing hair from your scalp, you will commonly see a small bulb on the end of the hair strands that you’ve lost. So, take a close look at the hairs in your brush or whenever you’re experiencing shedding. This type of hair loss is known as telogen effluvium and is a very common type caused by a specific stress or change in our bodies/health that interrupts the normal hair growth cycle. Of course, there are many types and causes of hair loss that we can experience. Some of the most common causes of hair loss are our health/illnesses, medications, change in hormones, a stressful event and nutrient deficiencies. Although it can often be difficult to pinpoint exactly what has caused your hair loss, it is very important to address the root cause as best as you can, and understand what specific type of loss it is, because topical haircare products alone won’t be able to change, stop or reverse the true cause of your thinning unless you first take the necessary steps to resolve the issue. If you are experiencing abnormal, increased or consistent hair loss and shedding, we always recommend you take some time to understand what is really going on, then you can set yourself up to experience the best results from our Sozo Hair Health range.

Our natural haircare, specifically, our Scalp & Hair Health Serum contains ingredients known to help support healthy hair growth. Rosemary oil is a hero in our Scalp & Hair Health Serum as it is known to provide a range of benefits, including increasing blood flow and circulation to the scalp and hair follicles, which is important for healthy hair growth. This means our serum is a must-have product in your haircare routine, especially if you’re looking to support healthy hair growth long term. For your best results with our serum, implement and commit to regular prewash scalp and hair oil treatments.

To summarise, hair loss is a complicated issue that involves taking a variety of steps. We know it is very common for many of us, when we see hair loss or thinning, to seek ‘hair growth’ haircare products with the hope that they will be the answer to our problems. But addressing hair loss and growth requires more than hair products. Yes, haircare plays a vital role, but don’t forget to identify and understand exactly what you’re experiencing to ensure you’re taking all the necessary steps to support hair growth.

 4. Can you use this natural haircare if you have a sensitive scalp or conditions like psoriasis and dandruff?

Our Sozo Hair Health range is free from the harsh chemicals that are often found in many traditional products, and it has been formulated to not only improve your hair health, but also soothe, condition, nourish and reduce inflammation on your scalp. This is important because healthy hair always starts with a healthy scalp. If you do have any known allergies or sensitivities, please always read through our Ingredient Glossary that will help you to learn about every ingredient featured in our range, so you can feel confident in choosing products that you know are suitable for your unique hair type and sensitivities.

Many scalp irritations, concerns and conditions, including psoriasis and dandruff, are often related to our physical health and can be caused by an immune system reaction, which means that topical haircare products alone cannot ‘cure’ these types of conditions. Just like hair loss, it is important to understand your specific scalp symptoms in order to properly treat your concerns. Haircare products, however, can help to soothe your scalp and manage your symptoms. With our natural haircare, achieving your healthiest scalp will involve maintaining a clean and nourished scalp. Our Sozo Hair Health Shampoo is all-natural and contains sulphate free surfactants to provide a rich and thorough clean without drying your scalp or hair, so you can maintain a clean, healthy scalp that is free of build up. Then to soothe, condition and reduce inflammation on the scalp, it is important to apply our conditioner and hair mask generously to both your scalp and hair. Don’t forget, our products are nourishing and lightweight so you can freely apply these products to your scalp without making your hair feel heavy. Our Hair Health Mask, specifically, is a luxurious haircare treatment product for problematic scalps as it contains a range of effective ingredients, including manuka honey that is known for it’s antibacterial and wound healing properties. With a consistent routine, you can help to soothe and manage your scalp concerns long term.

‘What an awesome product!! I have very fine hair and not a lot of it. Over the years I have suffered from psoriasis on and off. When I was hit with another bout just recently, I started to look for shampoos other than the highly medicated ones you can find at the chemist. I have been extremely impressed with Sozo. This product is so luscious! I use the smallest amount of shampoo and conditioner that the cost is actually very economical. Where I used to need to wash my hair daily due to oil build up, I am leaving it for 3 days now and it's not too bad. As I've only been using it for a few weeks I am hopeful that the overall condition of my hair health will also improve. On a side note, the latest bout of psoriasis has completely cleared up. I am huge fan and would suggest if you are not sure, give this product a go. I would be very surprised if you were not happy!’ – Ingrid, Sozo Australia customer

‘Love it 😍 I have scalp psoriasis & it lifted the flakes & made my scalp & hair feel great.’ – Debra, Sozo Australia Customer

‘Love this product. My scalp feels less irritated and my hair colour looks better, I am really pleased with this product and will be buying a bundle as a gift for my granddaughter this Easter.’ – Yvonne, Sozo Australia Customer
