4 things you MUST look for when buying new haircare.

4 things you MUST look for when buying new haircare.

If your current hair care products are simply not doing the job or you’re in need of something new, then here is what you can look out for when researching and buying new hair products, regardless of the type or condition of your hair.

1. Ingredient List

If you want to know what is really in a hair care product and what that product is going to do for your scalp and hair, then always, always, always start with the ingredient list. Understanding the ingredients, particularly those at the top of the list, formulated into your hair care will indicate the quality of the specific product.

Two things you need to look for in your shampoo and conditioner, as well as your hair treatment products, are the type of hair care ingredients used and how these ingredients are ordered and listed on packaging.

Firstly, are you familiar with and/or do you recognise the ingredients in the hair products? Can you identify any harsh chemicals or hidden nasties formulated into the hair care? If you are uncertain with specific ingredients, do a quick Google search which should tell you, generally, if it is a chemical or naturally derived ingredient.

If you’ve found some natural ingredients in the hair products you’re researching, then that is great! However, you can’t stop there. Many hair care products contain a small handful of natural ingredients, but you must be aware of where these ingredients are listed. If they are shown towards the bottom of the ingredient list, with predominately harsh chemicals at the top, then you can conclude that the product is heavily chemical based. This is because the ingredients listed at the top are formulated into the product at the highest level/percentage. This tells you that if the natural ingredients are only present at the end of the list, they have been included predominately for marketing purposes. Although they’re formulated into the hair product, those ingredients may not have a noticeable impact on your scalp and hair.

Our all-natural Sozo Hair Health Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Mask have been formulated without any harsh chemicals or hidden nasties. This means you’ll find natural hair care ingredients throughout our complete ingredient list. You can learn about each and every ingredient formulated into our Sozo Hair Health range with our Ingredient Glossary.

2. Where are the products made?

You may not consider where a hair product is made to be vitally important. However, knowing where hair care products are developed and manufactured can help you to ensure the quality of the products you purchase.

Being an Australian owned and operated business that provides all-natural hair care, it was essential to us, from day one, that our products were formulated, developed and manufactured in Australia. In fact, our Hair Health Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Mask are made in a TGA, ACO, GMP approved manufacturing facility located on the Gold Coast.

3. What claims, benefits and features are promoted?

It is also helpful to take a close look at what the hair care is formulated to do for your scalp and hair. Are the products designed for just one purpose?

Many products within the hair care market focus solely on one or two benefits. For example, hydration, adding volume or increasing hair growth.

However, our Sozo Hair Health range has been created to address your overall scalp and hair health concerns because we believe you will experience hydration, volume, shine, increased strength and new hair growth when your scalp and hair are given the treatment and nourishment they need.

4. How many different products are recommended to be used to see results?

The final factor to take into consideration when researching new hair care products is the number of products recommended that you use in order for you to experience results. When you select a hair care brand you’d like to try, will you need to implement a hair care routine that contains five, six or even seven different steps and products?

If you’re thinking to yourself that you don’t have the time or money to waste on so many different products all for healthier hair, then we have some great news for you!

An effective haircare routine DOES NOT have to be a complicated haircare routine filled with lots of products. You can achieve a truly healthy scalp and hair with a small handful of effective and scientifically formulated products, just like our Hair Health Trio, that is easy to use consistently.

You might find it difficult to know what hair products are going to work for you. So, don’t forget to do your research and invest in high quality products that are scientifically proven to give you the results you’re looking for.
